2024 Wage reopener Ratification vote
Sisters and Brothers,
The 2024-2025 Wage reopener to vote on a 2.5% wage increase to include a step/top step lump sum on July 1, 2024, has concluded. The vote took place on March 28, 2024, from 9 am-3 pm and was conducted electronically.
The A.F.S.C.M.E Local 749 membership voted Unanimously to ratify the contract by a vote of 388 to approve to 0 to reject. Another successful Union negotiated wage increase has passed. The Local 749 Executive board would like to thank you for participating in the ratification vote.
The Next step is the contract will be sent next week to the legislature to vote on. Per State statute they must vote on the contract within 30 days of receipt. It is not a done deal. A.F.S.C.M.E Local 749 would encourage all members to contact their State representative and State senator to support the wage increase. Local 749 will keep you updated on the vote and results from the Capitol.
Local 749 reached a tentative agreement for the 2024-2025 wage reopener. The framework for the agreement is a general wage increase of 2.5% on/or about July 1, 2024. Additionally, step increases on your anniversary date will occur. If you are at top step, you will receive the top step lump sum listed in the Collective Bargaining agreement.
The next step is to conduct a vote. If approved by the membership, the tentative agreement must then be passed by the legislature. If passed by the Legislature, it will be approved and implemented.
Local 749 has scheduled the ratification vote for Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 9 a.m.-3p.m. You will receive an email with istruction to vote electronically on March 28, 2024
