Marty to close family and friends, is a 15 year retired Army Veteran Sergeant, and currently on his 17th year as a Marshal. Marty was recently severely injured in the line of duty and is in need of your help. A GoFundMe page has been established to assist them. Anthem recently won a bid to take the health insurance administrator role. As of July 1, 2020 ALL state employees will be covered by Anthem. Anyone who has United will have to pick a new plan with anthem during the open enrollment. Here is some information and a link to help members understand the changes. This overall save money, but will effect united members a little more out of pocket. As additional information comes out, it will be posted.

The state Judicial Branch has sought to outsource the court transcription work performed by more than 200 members of Local 749 of Council 4. Outsourcing the work of court recording monitors (who are predominantly female) will destroy the integrity of courtroom transcriptions and lead to the destruction of more than 200 middle class jobs.

Judicial Branch Withdraws State of CT Judicial Branch v. Judicial Employees Local 749, AFSCME Council 4. The Judicial Branch has withdrawn the motion to vacate the arbitration award in an earlier grievance against a CTU employee. The Juvenile Detention Central Transportation Officer, who was terminated for what the branch called was a violation policy, has been reinstated, and the Branch has withdrawn their appeal of this decision after the Union filed a State Prohibited Practices complaint (labor board charge).
